The NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting Course is being taught right here in West Palm Beach by James Stedman of Jungle Tactical Solutions LLC. James Stedman was awarded the US Navy Expert Pistol Marksman Medal and is an NRA Certified Instructor for Basic Shotgun, Basic Pistol, Basic Rifle and Personal Protection in The Home. This comprehensive course will be held at the learning center for Jungle Tactical Solutions. The NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. This is an instructor-led course where you will receive direct instruction from an NRA Certified Rifle Instructor from beginning to end and takes place in a traditional classroom as well as a range environment. Course topics include gun safety rules, different types & proper operation of rifles, ammunition knowledge and selection, rifle selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, rifle inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Rifle Instructor. Your fee of $169.00 covers the NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course - it does not include range fees which fluctuate but are typically under $20 or ammunition. You should bring at least 200 cartridges to the range. The deposit of $100 can be made with credit card, check or cash to reserve your spot. The remaining balance is due in full the morning prior to class commencement, in form of credit card, debit card, or cash. There are no refunds for the deposit as course materials are ordered in advance and seats require time to re-fill if you opt out for any reason. We will be doing the shooting qualifier at Shoot Straight on Southern Boulevard near the Florida Turnpike immediately following the classroom work and open notes written test. You may qualify with a .22LR or any Rifle of your choosing up to all AR calibers, whichever you are more comfortable with shooting. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination and receive a Course Completion Certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Certified Rifle Instructor.
